Can I encrypt files with Simple Text Encryptor?
No. The software was designed to be simple. No options, settings, or anything else that would cause it to no longer be “simple.” I am in the process of working on a more feature-rich version, which will not be under the title of Simple Text Encryptor. It will be a completely different software. Currently there is no release date set. It is TBA (To Be Announced). The software will include the following options:
- Encrypt plain text with 128-bit AES or up to 448-bit Blowfish encryption.
- Encrypt files and folders (including subdirectories) with up to 448-bit Blowfish encryption.
- Encrypted files will be compressed based upon individual user settings.
Is Simple Text Encryptor Secure?
Yes. The software encrypts text with 128-bit encryption using the AES encryption algorithm. However, if you are the paranoid type or need something to be super secure then you may want to look at other software. Simple Text Encryptor was designed for use by the average user. It was not designed to encrypt data at a high encryption rate.
